Description
Hand beaded Indigenous Veterans Day Pin – Red Poppy Pin with Medicine Wheel colours and small antique silver feather.
NOTE: As of Nov 30, 2025 I have donated $444 to the Aboriginal Veterans Trust Scholarship. Thank You!
November 8th is National Indigenous Veterans Day here in Canada and we are offering this beautiful hand beaded pin that you can wear with pride to honour our fathers and grandfathers. Â I have made these pins using red felt and hand beaded them in the Medicine Wheel colours with a single antique silver feather charm. Â The back is faux leather and the pin is a locking bar pin so you can wear this with pride for many years. Â $10 from every pin sold will be donated to the Aboriginal Veterans Trust Scholarship.
Many First Nations, Inuit and Metis men volunteered to serve in both world wars. Â These determined volunteers were often forced to overcome many challenges to serve in uniform, from learning a new language and adapting to cultural differences, to having to travel great distances from their remote communities just to enlist. The challenges they faced often extended to their post-service life. Many Indigenous war Veterans would not receive equal treatment compared to other Canadian Veterans.
In 1996-1997, the federal government selected Indspire to receive $1.15 million to establish the Aboriginal Veterans Trust Scholarship. This dedication honours the contributions of Indigenous veterans and makes a permanent tribute to First Nation, Inuit and Métis peoples who are veterans. Through this funding and your generous support, Indspire is able to provide scholarships and bursaries to Indigenous post-secondary students across Canada.
The reason our Indigenous warriors have always fought was for the future of our communities and our youth. Â We honour this with our donations to Indspire. Â Your $10 donation will help empower an Indigenous youth for a brighter future for ALL Canadians as Judges, Doctors, Teachers, etc.
